Miniseries debuts May 5 on Netflix
Launching on the fifth day of the fifth month, Netflix's comedic miniseries finds Mike Myers playing five different characters ... and then three more for good measure. Myers's first appearance on a screen of any size in four years also finds him serving as writer/creator and producer. The six-episode series centers on a journalist (Myers, naturally) who thinks he has stumbled upon the story of a lifetime involving a secret, Illuminati-like body of men who have been influencing world events for centuries. Other characters played by Myers in the series include a Russian oligarch, a right-wing radio host, and a tech mastermind. The Pentaverate even has a few roles for people not named Mike Myers, including Keegan-Michael Key, Ken Jeong, Jennifer Saunders, Debi Mazar, Lydia West, and narrator Jeremy Irons. Will it be any good? It's hard to tell so far about the series as a whole, but the music should be excellent: The Pentaverate will feature a soundtrack from EDM veterans Orbital—their first new music in four years.
