Debuts May 5 on Peacock
One of Peacock's few standouts from its first two years of operation, Girls5Eva hits the same fast-paced, flashback-heavy sweet spot of past Tina Fey productions 30 Rock and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (the latter being one of the former stops of writer-producer Meredith Scardino, the creator of Girls5Eva). The series revolves around the four surviving members (played by Sara Bareilles, Busy Philipps, Paula Pell, and Renée Elise Goldsberry) of the titular one-hit-wonder girl-group as they attempt to mount a reunion in the present day, two decades after their brief moment of fame.
New cast members in season 2 include Amy Sedaris and Neil Flynn, while guests include (among others) Amber Ruffin, John Lutz, Judy Gold, Tim Meadows, Chad L. Coleman, Hoda Kotb, Mario Cantone, and the Property Brothers. Three episodes stream on day one, but the remaining episodes will arrive one per week.
