New comedy series debuts May 1 on BBC America
It technically debuted via streaming last week, but if you are not an AMC+ or Sundance Now subscriber (and let's be honest: you probably aren't), May 1st is your first chance to catch the premiere episode of the English-language remake of Netflix's critically acclaimed French-language comedy hit Call My Agent! (or, as it was originally titled in France, Dix pour cent.) Though it will follow a blend of new and old storylines and relocate the setting to London, the UK production returns the basic format of the original, following the agents and owners of a mid-level talent agency whose clients are often real-life actors gamely playing (and frequently lampooning) themselves. The remake's main cast includes Jack Davenport, Maggie Steed, Prasanna Puwanarajah, Lydia Leonard, and Jim Broadbent, while some of those celebrity cameos come from Helena Bonham Carter, David Oyelowo, Dominic West, and Emma Corrin.
