Comedy series debuts May 1 on Showtime
Vanessa Bayer's semi-autobiographical comedy series finds her playing a one-time child cancer survivor (which Bayer is in real life) who seeks out a new life as an adult by finally moving out of her parents' house, beginning a new romance, and launching a career as a home shopping network TV host. The eight-episode series reunites Bayer (who co-created the series with fellow SNL vet Jeremy Beiler) with her SNL co-star Molly Shannon, while Jenifer Lewis, Paul James, Ayden Mayeri, and Matthew Rogers also star. Producers also include Jessi Klein (Inside Amy Schumer) and Michael Showalter, and the latter also directs the opener, which is also available to stream early beginning April 29 on Showtime's app and VOD.
Also debuting on Showtime the same night (at 11p) is the first part of the second season of Ziwe, the hybrid interview/sketch series that debuted to good reviews a year ago. This season's guests include Ilana Glazer, Hannibal Buress, Nicole Byer, Charlamagne Tha God, Chet Hanks, and Emily Ratajkowski.
