What to Watch in May: 28 Most-Anticipated TV Shows & Streaming Movies
The month ahead will bring animated Star Wars and Marvel shows, a new Tina Fey comedy, the returns of Master of None and Mythic Quest, and more. In the gallery above, our editors have selected the most interesting TV and movie titles debuting at home in the next month, listed in order by premiere date.
Season 3 debuts May 2 on FX (and May 3 on Hulu). After spending much of its two seasons depicting one major health crisis (HIV/AIDS), FX's acclaimed '80s-set drama Pose found itself facing a new pandemic (COVID-19) behind the scenes as it filmed its third and final season. The result is a shorter-than-normal (7-episode) final run that will feature few of the show's trademark crowded drag ball scenes, which are a bit harder to pull off under today's circumstances. Still, the new batch of episodes—which jump forward in time to 1994—should allow creators Ryan Murphy and Steven Canals to craft a satisfying ending to the journeys of Billy Porter's Pray Tell, Mj Rodriguez's Blanca, and other returning characters.
