Miniseries debuts May 14 on Netflix. Ewan McGregor stars as legendary fashion designer Halston in a five-episode adaptation of the unauthorized biography Simply Halston by Steven Gaines. The long-gestating project, which was eventually taken over by producer Ryan Murphy after Netflix first passed on the series years ago, also stars Rory Culkin (playing filmmaker Joel Schumacher), Krysta Rodriguez (as Liza Minnelli, who was Halston's closest friend), Bill Pullman, Rebecca Dayan, Vera Farmiga, and Gian Franco Rodriguez, and will focus on Halston's successes in growing his fashion empire in 1970s and '80s New York, his battle against a hostile takeover attempt, and his personal struggles. Dan Minahan (whose credits include a number of Murphy projects as well as Game of Thrones) directs all five episodes.
