Writer-director Léa Mysius’ follow-up to her 2017 debut Ava is the story of Joanne (Adèle Exarchopoulos), her biracial daughter Vicky (Sally Dramé) who has super-smell abilities, and Vicky’s aunt Julia (Swala Emati) who re-enters and upsets their life. Vicky’s gift also allows her to reproduce a scent, and she collects them in a series of jars. Once she captures Julia’s scent, she begins to experience memories from her mother’s past, revealing a bisexual love triangle and other family secrets.
