French filmmaker Lola Quivoron’s feature debut follows Julia (Julie Ledru), a gearhead obsessed with illicit gatherings where motorbike riders show off their latest stunts (the rodeos of the title). When she meets a volatile gang running errands for Dom, their imprisoned leader, she’ll do anything to prove herself, and a major heist gives her the opportunity. It’s a kinetic ride with impressive stunts and a complex, one-of-a-kind lead character.
