Movie debuts March 18 on HBO Max. Now back to being a movie (rather than a once-mooted miniseries), this HBO Max exclusive is a four-hour director's cut of the 2017 DC Comics feature film Justice League, which, as you may recall, was not all that successful either creatively or commercially—though Snyder had to step away from the film for personal reasons during post-production, leaving Joss Whedon to complete the film. Whedon controversially imprinted his own touch on Justice League, including by writing new scenes not in the original script. But now, after a lengthy fan campaign, Snyder finally gets his do-over. Even though the Snyder cut is twice as long as the original, only a few minutes of new footage were filmed—though that was apparently enough to add Jared Leto's Joker (as well as a surprise "hero cameo") to the film.
