Movie debuts June 10 on Paramount+
So much for the return of movie theaters. Originally targeted for a theatrical release in September but now bypassing theaters altogether in an attempt to build a subscriber base for the new-ish Paramount+ streaming service, this sci-fi thriller from Antoine Fuqua (The Equalizer, Training Day) centers on a man (Mark Wahlberg) who believes he is suffering from a mental breakdown when he is plagued by memories of a life he never had. It turns out that those memories are real—but they are from multiple past lives, spanning centuries. He joins up with a secretive group known as the Infinites who must use their knowledge of reincarnation to stop one of their own members (Chiwetel Ejiofor) who has gone rogue and now threatens the future of the human race. It all sounds so Christopher Nolan-y. Adapted from the novel The Reincarnationist Papers by D. Eric Maikranz, Infinite also stars Jason Mantzoukas, Rupert Friend, Sophie Cookson, Liz Carr, Toby Jones, and Dylan O'Brien. Expect more films to debut exclusively on Paramount+ in the coming year.
