Drama/comedy series debuts June 9 on Disney+
It has been a few months since the last Marvel series, so it must be time for a new one. Tom Hiddleston brings his big-screen God of Mischief to Disney+ in a series that finds a time-traveling Loki popping up, Zelig-like, at key moments throughout human history and becoming an unlikely influencer on events. Expect a comedic approach, especially since the series comes from frequent Dan Harmon collaborator Michael Waldron, who has written for Rick and Morty and Community, and director Kate Herron, who is new to Marvel and has worked on shows such as Netflix's Sex Education. Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Owen Wilson, Richard E. Grant, Sasha Lane, and Sophia Di Martino also star. Like Disney's other Marvel shows, Loki is technically a miniseries—and just six episodes at that, streaming weekly—but that doesn't mean there can't be a second season. Either way, expect the story to tie in to next year's Marvel film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (also co-written by Waldron).
