Game show debuts June 14 on ABC
ABC's quest to revive every classic TV game show may have reached its most bizarre stage yet. Chuck Barris's iconic 1960s dating series has been revived multiple times in the past, and has featured a few celebrity contestants on occasion, but this Zooey Deschanel-hosted revival will exclusively feature celebrity contestants (still unrevealed), who will each select from a panel of three non-celebrity bachelors or bachelorettes. These mere humans won't know the identity of their celebrity suitors until the selection is made. But they will have a clue—rather, clues—delivered in the form of "hilarious parody song performances" by Michael Bolton. It probably couldn't hurt to watch just one episode, right?
ABC isn't the only network reviving an old game show format this month. Rival NBC is bringing back College Bowl on June 22nd in a new version of the quiz show (pitting teams of university students against each other) that will be hosted by Peyton Manning.
