14 Films to See in June
June will bring more than just the usual assortment of explosions and CGI effects to the cineplex. There are promising new films from Edgar Wright, Sofia Coppola, and Bong Joon-ho, an unusually large number of well-reviewed indie comedies, and a terrific new horror film. There's also something even more rare: a good DC Comics film. Find details on these and all of June's most notable releases below.
The latest from Krisha writer-director Trey Edward Shults stars Joel Edgerton as a man whose life with his wife (Carmen Ejogo) and son (Kelvin Harrison Jr.) is interrupted by the arrival of a desperate young family (Christopher Abbott and Riley Keough) and their young son (Griffin Robert Faulkner). Unable to keep the horrors of the outside world from invading their home, both families let paranoia take over. With excellent reviews for his first two features, Shults has become a director whose work will be anticipated by film-lovers for years to come.
