14 Films to See in June
June will bring more than just the usual assortment of explosions and CGI effects to the cineplex. There are promising new films from Edgar Wright, Sofia Coppola, and Bong Joon-ho, an unusually large number of well-reviewed indie comedies, and a terrific new horror film. There's also something even more rare: a good DC Comics film. Find details on these and all of June's most notable releases below.
Sam Elliott stars as an aging Western actor forced to confront his mortality in the latest effort from the team (writer Marc Basch and writer-director Brett Haley) behind I’ll See You in My Dreams. Nick Offerman plays Elliott’s pot-dealing friend, Katharine Ross his ex-wife, and Krysten Ritter his estranged daughter, while Laura Prepon is a romantic interest. Critics at Sundance praised The Hero as a showcase for Elliot’s acting talents.
