14 Films to See in June
June will bring more than just the usual assortment of explosions and CGI effects to the cineplex. There are promising new films from Edgar Wright, Sofia Coppola, and Bong Joon-ho, an unusually large number of well-reviewed indie comedies, and a terrific new horror film. Actress-writer-director Zoe Lister-Jones’ feature directing debut earned good reviews when it premiered at Sundance earlier this year. The film follows Anna (Zoe Lister-Jones) and Ben (Adam Pally) as they start a band to save their marriage. With a strong supporting cast that includes Fred Armisen as their neighbor and drummer, plus Hannah Simone, Brooklyn Decker, Ravi Patel, and Retta, the film finds ample room for comedic moments amidst the marital discord.
