11 Films to See in June
With summer movie season in full swing, you can expect multiple sequels (with Pixar's Finding Dory the most notable) in June. But you'll also find a surprising number of original and unconventional titles in theaters, including new films from Nicolas Winding Refn, Todd Solondz, Noah Baumbach, Taika Waititi, and more.
Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert (aka Daniels) made their name directing music videos like this one. At Sundance this year, they won the Directing Award in the U.S. Dramatic Competition for their first feature or, as the press called it, the "Daniel Radcliffe farting corpse movie."
Yes, Daniel Radcliffe plays a corpse, and yes, he farts, but he does plenty of other amazing things as well. (Hence the title.) Also starring is Paul Dano, whose Hank is a hopeless man stranded on an island who discovers Radcliffe’s corpse, turning him into a multi-purpose tool to help him get home to Mary Elizabeth Winstead’s Sarah. This unconventional love story/bromance split critics, with some embracing the continuous farting and others finding the whole crazy enterprise puerile.
