11 Films to See in June
With summer movie season in full swing, you can expect multiple sequels (with Pixar's Finding Dory the most notable) in June. But you'll also find a surprising number of original and unconventional titles in theaters, including new films from Nicolas Winding Refn, Todd Solondz, Noah Baumbach, Taika Waititi, and more.
The latest from Korean director Hong Sang-soo is another tale of a man, a woman, and their awkward meeting. The man here is a film director (as is common in Hong’s films), while the woman is a young artist. He tries to pick her up. So far, so Hong, but halfway through, the film starts over, and we see their meeting again, played out with small variations in dialogue and approach, resulting in a surprisingly complex reflection on human interaction
