With summer movie season in full swing, you can expect multiple sequels (with Pixar's Finding Dory the most notable) in June. But you'll also find a surprising number of original and unconventional titles in theaters, including new films from Nicolas Winding Refn, Todd Solondz, Noah Baumbach, Taika Waititi, and more.

Director Anna Rose Holmer’s feature narrative debut is a psychological portrait of 11-year-old Toni (Royalty Hightower), a tomboy assimilating to a tight-knit dance team in Cincinnati's West End. Good reviews from festival showings in Venice and Sundance make this indie drama one to look for as it rolls out to select cities this month.
