Reality series debuts July 13 on Max
Over two decades ago, HBO's Ben Affleck- and Matt Damon-produced reality series Project Greenlight offered a fascinating behind-the-scenes look into the movie-making process by following low-budget projects from first-time writers and directors through every stage of production. That series was later (and briefly) rebooted after a ten-year hiatus, and now—another eight years later—comes a second reboot, this time produced by Issa Rae and streaming as a Max exclusive. Rae also serves as an on-screen mentor alongside Kumail Nanjiani and Gina Prince-Bythewood as they guide first-time director Meko Winbush during the production of her sci-fi thriller Gray Matter. All ten episodes of the new Greenlight will be available to stream at once—and so will the completed Gray Matter, which stars Jessica Frances Dukes, Mia Isaac, and Garret Dillahunt.
