Season 4 Vol. 2 debuts July 1 on Netflix
Why, exactly, did we have to wait an extra month to get the final two episodes of season four of Stranger Things? Apparently, it wasn't a ploy to spread Emmy eligibility among multiple years (though it does accomplish that), but was merely a way of getting at least some of season four to fans of Netflix's biggest hit series a bit sooner after an unusually long gap between seasons. Extra work was needed to complete these final two episodes because the phrase "two episodes" doesn't really convey what you are getting: With runtimes of 85 minutes and 139 minutes, respectively, Chapters 8 and 9 are basically two full feature films. We won't spoil any details in case you aren't quite caught up on the first half of the season, but we will say that widely praised season 4 newcomer Joseph Quinn recently told The Guardian that the finale is "just carnage," while returning star Noah Schnapp has also hinted at "some deaths" (as in more than one) in these episodes.
