Out July 9 for PC and Switch
The 2017 Nintendo 3DS game Monster Hunter Stories was a spinoff from Capcom's larger Monster Hunter fantasy action/RPG series that emphasized story and role-playing over action. Now, that game gets its first sequel, which will launch not only on Nintendo's Switch but also on PC. Basic gameplay is similar, but Wings of Ruin features a larger group of monsters (which, as a Rider, you tame and use as transportation) and improved turn-based combat as well as improved (and less childish) visuals, and also includes a player character creator. The story revolves around the sudden disappearance of Rathalos from around the world, and gameplay options include single-player and both competitive and co-op multiplayer.
