14 Films to See in July
July's highlights include the latest Marvel and Planet of the Apes films (which are already receiving strong reviews), Christopher Nolan's new WWII epic, many of this year's better Sundance entries, and possibly the year's top documentary. We have picked out all of this month's intriguing releases—including a pair of Netflix exclusives—below.
After wrapping the big budget Pete’s Dragon, director David Lowery returned to his indie roots to shoot this story of a man who watches over his grieving wife and, as time passes, haunts his former home. Reuniting his Ain’t Them Bodies Saints stars, Rooney Mara and Casey Affleck (who spends most of the movie under a sheet), Lowery earned one of the highest Metascores at this year’s Sundance Film Festival.
