14 Films to See in July
July's highlights include the latest Marvel and Planet of the Apes films (which are already receiving strong reviews), Christopher Nolan's new WWII epic, many of this year's better Sundance entries, and possibly the year's top documentary. We have picked out all of this month's intriguing releases—including a pair of Netflix exclusives—below.
Shot on 65mm and IMAX, Christopher Nolan’s World War II epic promises to be a film best seen in a big theater. With a large ensemble cast (Kenneth Branagh, Mark Rylance, Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy and newcomers Fionn Whitehead, Aneurin Barnard, Harry Styles, James D’Arcy, Jack Lowden, and Barry Keoghan), the film dramatizes Operation Dynamo, the evacuation of Allied troops from the French harbor of Dunkirk from May 26 to June 4, 1940.
