14 Films to See in July
July's highlights include the latest Marvel and Planet of the Apes films (which are already receiving strong reviews), Christopher Nolan's new WWII epic, many of this year's better Sundance entries, and possibly the year's top documentary. We have picked out all of this month's intriguing releases—including a pair of Netflix exclusives—below.
Produced by The Lonely Island and co-written by and starring SNL’s Kyle Mooney, Dave McCary’s debut feature follows 25-year-old James (Mooney) as he copes with the sudden end of his favorite TV show, Brigsby Bear Adventures. Realizing he’s the only person who has seen the show, James sets out to finish the story himself. Positive early reviews from its Sundance premiere note how the film deftly combines comedy with sincere emotions.
