Animated series debuts January 12 on HBO Max
If you can think of only one Velma: Yup, it's that one. (If you can think of a second one, you might be in the wrong century.) Created by Charlie Grandy (The Mindy Project, The Office), HBO Max's newest adult animated comedy series depicts the high school origin story of Scooby-Doo character Velma Dinkley—"the unsung and underappreciated brains of the Scooby-Doo Mystery Inc. gang"—voiced here by Mindy Kaling. Also lending their voices to the 10-episode series are Glenn Howerton as Fred, Sam Richardson as Shaggy, and Constance Wu as Daphne, while guests include Jane Lynch, Stephen Root, Wanda Sykes, Yvonne Orji, Kulap Vilaysak, Nicole Byer, Cherry Jones, Melissa Fumero, Ken Leung, Ming-Na Wen, "Weird Al" Yankovic, and more. Just don't expect Scooby ... or a van. Two episodes stream each week.
