Originally slated for release last summer on HBO Max, this debut feature from music video director Calmatic shares the title of Reginald Hudlin’s 1990 comedy classic but little else. The script from Atlanta writers Stephen Glover and Jamal Lori follows aspiring club promoters and best friends Damon (Tosin Cole) and Kevin (Jacob Latimore), who, after being fired from their housecleaning gig, hatch a plan to make a quick windfall by throwing a party at the last house they cleaned: Lebron James’ mansion. (James and Maverick Carter are producers on the film.) While no doubt a glitzier affair, can the new remake reach the comedic heights of the Kid 'N Play original featuring the late, great Robin Harris?
