Miniseries debuts January 12 on PBS. Jane Austen's unfinished final novel set in a seaside village in the early 19th century comes to the small screen (and PBS's Masterpiece) in an adaptation from Andrew Davies (Les Misérables, Mr. Selfridge). Episode one uses what exists of Austen's work, which was in progress at the time of her death in 1817, while the remaining seven are pretty much all Davies and his fellow writers. Rose Williams, Theo James, Anne Reid, Kris Marshall, and Crystal Clarke star. The series already aired in the fall in the UK, where it seemed to divide critics.
