Series debuts January 22 on Comedy Central. Fresh off her acclaimed performance in (and, potentially, an Oscar nomination for) The Farewell, actress/comedian Awkwafina heads to the small screen with her own sitcom. This 10-episode, semi-autobiographical Comedy Central series finds Awkwafina playing a young Asian-American woman growing up in Flushing. BD Wong, Lori Tan Chinn, and Bowen Yang also star, while the mostly female director list includes Natasha Lyonne (who also guest stars), Lucia Aniello, and Jamie Babbit.
