Miniseries debuts February 10 on HBO Max
Admittedly, we were on the fence about listing this here, as early reviews out of the UK (where the BBC series has already debuted) are decidedly mixed. But the cast has us intrigued—and, indeed, was the highlight of the series for those same British critics. A stylish four-episode adaptation (available to binge at once) of JP Delaney's novel directed by Lisa Bruhlmann (Killing Eve), The Girl Before stars Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Jane, a woman given the opportunity to move into a seemingly perfect modernist house designed by an architect played by David Oyelowo. But there's a catch: To stay in the house, she must abide by the architect's list of exacting rules—a set of requirements that didn't work out very well for the home's previous occupant (Jessica Plummer). Will Jane face the same fate?
