Drama film debuts February 12 on HBO Max. Available on HBO Max concurrently with the first month of its theatrical release—part of Warner Bros.'s controversial move to stream all of its 2021 films on day one—the delayed Judas could be a late player in this year's Oscar race, especially if it gets a positive response from its Sundance premiere on February 1st. (It should, given that it has already started getting some honors from critic award groups.) Shaka King's film is a 1960s-set drama based on real events involving a criminal turned informant (played by Lakeith Stanfield) who helps the FBI attempt to take down the head of the Black Panthers, Fred Hampton (Get Out's Daniel Kaluuya). Ryan Coogler is among the producers, and the script originated in a story by the Lucas Brothers.
