Drama series debuts February 11 on CBS. The second TV series based on Thomas Harris' Hannibal Lecter novels (following Bryan Fuller's acclaimed Hannibal), this CBS newcomer centers on the character of FBI agent Clarice Starling, originated on screen by Jodie Foster in 1991's The Silence of the Lambs (and played in the 2001 sequel also called Hannibal by Julianne Moore). Here, Rebecca Breeds (Pretty Little Liars) takes on the role in a story that takes place in Washington, D.C. in 1993, shortly after the events of Lambs. Kal Penn, Nick Sandow, and Michael Cudlitz also star in the series, which comes from Alex Kurtzman and Jenny Lumet and is run by The Resident's Elizabeth Klaviter. Despite being on CBS, the series will take a more serialized (rather than procedural) approach to its story, though don't expect a Hannibal Lecter appearance—producers don't have the rights to that character.
