Drama film debuts February 26 on Hulu. The latest high-profile film to abandon plans for a theatrical release, Holiday was Paramount's sole potential Oscar contender this year. Instead, after a last-minute sale, it's a Hulu original (though it'll still be eligible for awards thanks to the extended Oscar deadline). The film dramatizes the life of legendary jazz singer Billie Holiday, following her as she is unfairly targeted by federal narcotics officers in a decades-long sting operation and finally arrested while hospitalized in the final days of her life. Grammy-nominated artist Andra Day (of "Rise Up" fame) plays Holiday in her feature debut, while Garrett Hedlund, Da'Vine Joy Randolph, and Natasha Lyonne also star. It's the first film directed by Lee Daniels since 2013's The Butler.
