10 Films to See in February
While January (as is the norm) had little of quality to offer moviegoers other than holdovers from the previous year, February looks a lot more promising. This month will see the arrival of a new comedy from the Coen brothers, a thriller from John Hillcoat, several foreign dramas that have already collected raves from reviewers, and what could be 2016's best horror film.
This foreign language Oscar nominee re-teams writer-director Tobias Lindholm with his A Hijacking lead Pilou Asbæk. Asbæk plays a Danish commander who makes a controversial decision during a firefight in Afghanistan that has consequences for his life and family back home. Lindholm also wrote Thomas Vinterberg’s upcoming The Commune and 2013’s The Hunt, and former Borgen co-star Asbæk will soon be seen in Game of Thrones as Euron Greyjoy, Timur Bekmambetov’s Ben-Hur as Pontius Pilate, and Rupert Sanders live-action Ghost in the Shell as Batou.
