10 Films to See in February
While January (as is the norm) had little of quality to offer moviegoers other than holdovers from the previous year, February looks a lot more promising. This month will see the arrival of a new comedy from the Coen brothers, a thriller from John Hillcoat, several foreign dramas that have already collected raves from reviewers, and what could be 2016's best horror film.
With their latest, Joel and Ethan Coen take us on a madcap romp through Hollywood’s Golden Age with a cavalcade of stars: George Clooney, Josh Brolin, Ralph Fiennes, Tilda Swinton, Scarlett Johansson, Channing Tatum, Frances McDormand, Alden Ehrenreich, and Jonah Hill. Returning to one of their favorite plot devices—a kidnapping and ransom scenario—the film follows Capitol Pictures studio fixer Eddie Mannix (Brolin) as he tries to find Baird Whitlock (Clooney), the star of the studio’s latest production, Hail, Caesar!.
