Fall Games Preview: 20 Most-Anticipated Videogames
While some of the most-anticipated games originally expected this year have—no surprise here—been delayed into 2018, the fall months will still bring plenty of options. Below, we profile the most noteworthy videogames scheduled for release between now and the end of 2017.
In 2014, Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami returned to the survival horror genre with The Evil Within. This summer, the long-rumored sequel was officially announced, and it arrives next month. You once again play as detective Sebastian Castellanos, and this time you must save the life of your daughter Lily after you learn that she has been captured by Mobius. Given the first game's convoluted plotting, it's probably best not to anticipate a straightforward storyline but instead revel in the creepy atmosphere—especially since the sequel offers greater opportunity for exploration.
