Fall Games Preview: 20 Most-Anticipated Videogames
While some of the most-anticipated games originally expected this year have—no surprise here—been delayed into 2018, the fall months will still bring plenty of options. Below, we profile the most noteworthy videogames scheduled for release between now and the end of 2017.
If Breath of the Wild didn't convince you to buy a Nintendo Switch, maybe this will. The first Super Mario game for Nintendo's new console is a 3D sandbox platformer that gives Mario some new abilities (hat throwing!) as he ventures out of the Mushroom Kingdom into a variety of strange new worlds, including a realistic-looking, human-inhabited city. Nintendo has stated that Odyssey will be more on the "core side" (i.e., more difficult) like earlier titles such as Super Mario Sunshine. Odyssey, which was named the best game at the E3 and Gamescom conferences this summer, will also offer two-player local co-op gameplay, with the second player controlling the aforementioned hat, named Cappy.
