Fall Games Preview: 20 Most-Anticipated Videogames
Below, we profile the most noteworthy videogames scheduled for release between now and the end of the year. Games without official release dates (like this week's new Early Access title Divinity: Original Sin 2) are omitted, since they may not arrive until 2017.
The improved graphical capabilities of the latest generation of console hardware have motivated game companies to remaster and re-release old (and not-so-old) favorites. That not always welcome trend continues this fall, most notably with a HD version of 2011's Skyrim. The new Special Edition boasts significant visual improvements compared to the original, and also introduces modding to the console versions for the first time. (Gameplay and content are otherwise identical.) Another remaster to look for this fall is BioShock: The Collection (out this week), which collects all three BioShock games (minus some multiplayer) along with all previously released DLC, all with updated visuals for PS4 and XB1. (PC gamers who already have either or both of the first two BioShock games on Steam can upgrade for free; the third game, Infinite, is unchanged.)
