Fall Games Preview: 20 Most-Anticipated Videogames
Below, we profile the most noteworthy videogames scheduled for release between now and the end of the year. Games without official release dates (like this week's new Early Access title Divinity: Original Sin 2) are omitted, since they may not arrive until 2017.
With the 20-year-old Pokemon franchise seemingly bigger than ever thanks to the ubiquity of mobile game Pokemon Go, it seems like as good a time as any to return to the more traditional RPG-style Pokemon game (for the first time since 2013's X and Y). In addition to introducing some new creatures, (including some you can ride on), November's two newcomers add a hyper training mode (for super strong Pokemon), powerful one-time-use "Z-moves," four-player free-for-all battles, and more. The setting for all this is a Hawaii-like tropical archipelago called Alola, where the Sun and Moon versions will be set 12 hours apart.
