Fall Games Preview: 20 Most-Anticipated Videogames
Below, we profile the most noteworthy videogames scheduled for release between now and the end of the year. Games without official release dates (like this week's new Early Access title Divinity: Original Sin 2) are omitted, since they may not arrive until 2017.
With Nintendo's new console due early next year, this could very well be the final noteworthy Wii U exclusive ever. But the game is perhaps noteworthy for some of the wrong reasons. Reactions to an early trailer were harshly negative, with fans comparing it to the poorly received 2012 3DS release Sticker Star (with collectible cards subbing in for stickers). Still, it's the first console release in the franchise since 2007's inventive Super Paper Mario, and it looks to continue to Paper Mario tradition of incorporating a goofy sense of humor into Mario's world. The new game also introduces a new Paint Hammer tool (used to fill in colorless spots in your world), and takes advantage of the Wii U's touchscreen controller to add a different style of puzzle-solving at certain points in the game.
