Fall Games Preview: 20 Most-Anticipated Videogames
Below, we profile the most noteworthy videogames scheduled for release between now and the end of the year. Games without official release dates (like this week's new Early Access title Divinity: Original Sin 2) are omitted, since they may not arrive until 2017.
In development since 2007 (when it was targeted for the then-new PlayStation 3 console), game designer Fumito Ueda's successor to classics Ico and Shadow of the Colossus is finally scheduled for a release next month (make that in December, after yet another delay), though a demo at E3 this summer suggested that much work was still needed to ready the game for release. (Still, it looks to be rich in the emotional power that is Ueda's hallmark.) A mixture of platformer and puzzle-solving, The Last Guardian finds you playing as a young boy who must escape captivity with the help of a giant half-bird, half-cat creature named Trico.
