2018 Fall TV Preview: 25 Notable Shows
In the gallery above, we preview the most notable new and returning television shows scheduled to debut between now and the end of 2018. Note that the new fall shows on the five broadcast networks will be profiled separately next week.
Debuts September 27 on NBC. It's a near-miracle it has lasted this long. Not because it's bad—on the contrary, The Good Place is easily the critics' favorite comedy on broadcast television (if not anywhere) in recent years—but because Mike Schur and his writers (including, of course, multiple Emmy nominee Megan Amram) have already burned through so much story in the 26 episodes to date, revealing a surprising number of major plot twists for a comedy series (and one that also happens to be seriously funny).
Speaking of twists (and stop reading if you aren't caught up, though the second season was just added to Netflix): the biggest one to date came in last year's finale, which seemingly sent all four main characters back to Earth (commonly known as the home of the Jacksonville Jaguars) for a second chance at fixing their lives. That is indeed where season 3 will start, with Ted Danson's Michael on hand to oversee their do-overs, and the characters will quickly find their way back together. Recurring guests this season include Mike O’Malley and Kirby Howell-Baptiste (recently seen on both Killing Eve and Barry).
