2018 Fall TV Preview: 25 Notable Shows
In the gallery above, we preview the most notable new and returning television shows scheduled to debut between now and the end of 2018. Note that the new fall shows on the five broadcast networks will be profiled separately next week.
Debuts tbd on Prime Video. Since the end of Gilmore Girls, creator Amy Sherman-Palladino has launched a few shows (including one good one) but didn't score another hit until last year, when she connected with audiences and critics alike with this period dramedy about a housewife turned stand-up comic (a terrific Rachel Brosnahan) in late 1950s New York. The show will return for its second season sometime this fall (and a third next year, thanks to an early renewal) after receiving 14 Emmy nominations for its debut season.
The new season will venture to Paris and the Catskills and feature Zachary Levi in a recurring guest role (while season 1 guest Jane Lynch will also return for an episode). A second-season trailer is already available, and it wouldn't be a surprise to see the premiere date revealed close to the Emmy broadcast to capitalize on the free publicity. (But with filming for the season finale still ongoing, we expect this one to arrive late in the year.)
