2018 Fall TV Preview: 25 Notable Shows
In the gallery above, we preview the most notable new and returning television shows scheduled to debut between now and the end of 2018. Note that the new fall shows on the five broadcast networks will be profiled separately next week.
Debuts November 2 on Netflix. Netflix's first original series (can you name the second?*) returns for its final season—though it almost didn't. When the Kevin Spacey scandal first came to light last fall, the sixth season of House of Cards was already filming, and Netflix halted production. Ultimately, the streaming service decided to shorten and rewrite/refilm the entire season, cutting Spacey out completely.
Instead, these eight final episodes will focus on Robin Wright's Claire Underwood, now serving as president. (It is unclear how Spacey's Frank Underwood will be written out of the show, with Netflix keeping it a secret until launch.) Wright will be joined by returning faces like Michael Kelly, Constance Zimmer, Campbell Scott, and Patricia Clarkson, while two major new characters—siblings who appear to be loosely modeled on the Koch brothers—will be played by Greg Kinnear and Diane Lane.
* Netflix's second original was the horror drama Hemlock Grove, which ran for three seasons despite lousy reviews.
