The popularity of the first season of the Duffer Brothers' nostalgic sci-fi/horror series caught even Netflix by surprise, and it made instant stars out of young cast members like Millie Bobby Brown and Finn Wolfhard. That means anticipation is high for the nine-episode second season, which—appropriately enough for its near-Halloween release date—is said to be even darker and scarier than the first. New cast members include Sean Astin, Paul Reiser, Brett Gelman, and Will Chase. Directors for the Barb-less, 1984-set season include series producer Shawn Levy and Pixar's Andrew Stanton (Finding Nemo).
