He may look about the same, but Dr. Eldon Chance is not Dr. Gregory House. For his first regular series starring role since House ended in 2012, Hugh Laurie is again playing a troubled physician, though in Hulu's psychological thriller Chance (already renewed for a 2nd season) he's a San Francisco-based forensic neuropsychiatrist who "gets sucked into a violent and dangerous world of mistaken identity, police corruption and mental illness." This adaptation of Kem Nunn's novel (by the author himself along with Desperate Housewives vet Alexandra Cunningham) is directed by Lenny Abrahamson (Room) and also stars Gretchen Mol, Paul Adelstein, and Clarke Peters.
