Konami's run-and-gun shooter series Contra has been dormant for most of the current decade, but the franchise returns in September with a game that picks up the storyline after 1992's Contra III and is developed by a team led by that game's director. That said, an early look at the game at E3 revealed many deviations from the Contra formula, and critics at the convention seemed dismayed by the changes. Still, the mid-priced Rogue Corps includes a single-player campaign as well as co-op multiplayer.
