Fall Videogame Preview: 30 Most-Anticipated Games
In the gallery above, find details on the most-anticipated games that are scheduled to be released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC between now and the end of 2019, listed in alphabetical order.
Release date: October 25 for PS4, XB1, and PC
This year's Call of Duty entry comes from developer Infinity Ward (who last made 2016's Infinite Warfare) and is intended to serve as a reboot of the more realistic Modern Warfare sub-series. (Despite the title, it's not a remake of the 2007 game.) Unlike last year's Black Ops 4, the new Modern Warfare will feature a single-player campaign, which is set in a completely new world apart from the three previous Modern Warfare games (though it returns the character of Captain Price). Unlike any previous CoD game, multiplayer will support cross-play among all three platforms. There's also no season pass this time, so post-launch content (like maps and events) will be free to all gamers. There's also no Zombies mode (at least at launch), but there are new night-vision maps and a new multiplayer mode called "Gunfight" featuring brisk 2v2 matches on smaller maps.
