In the gallery above, find details on the most-anticipated games that are scheduled to be released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC between now and the end of 2019, listed in alphabetical order.
Release date: October 25 for PS4, XB1, and PC
A brand-new IP from Pillars of Eternity/Fallout: New Vegas studio Obsidian Entertainment, The Outer Worlds is a first-person action-RPG with a sci-fi theme. The single-player game takes place in a distant solar system ruled by large corporations and brands, and features the studio's trademark humor and an emphasis on player choice. That choice even extends to the type of character you want to be: hero, villain, or somewhere in between. (Or "psychopath," another option offered by a promotion for the game.) You can proceed at your own pace, and fight, sneak, or talk your way out of conflicts, while the branching story includes multiple endings depending on the path you take.
Even though Obsidian is now owned by Microsoft, the game will be published by Take-Two's Private Division label and thus is still headed to PS4 in October, and is also expected to come to the Switch at a later date. Yes, the PC version is Epic-exclusive, at least for the first year, though you can also grab it through the Microsoft Store.
