Are you ready for some football? No, not that kind. This year's FIFA entry from EA Sports arrives next month, and it'll add a new "Volta" mode modeled after the old FIFA Street series utilizing teams of 3-5 players. (Switch gamers, however, won't get Volta or several other new features.) That, of course, is in addition to the licensed professional soccer the series is known for, which will be depicted more realistically than ever.
Of course, FIFA 20 won't be the only soccer game released this fall. Its annual (and, for many fans, superior) competitor from Konami, Pro Evolution Soccer, is also getting a new edition on September 10, under a new name: eFootball. That game still lacks many of the real-world leagues and players that the bigger-budgeted FIFA 20 includes, but it does have the exclusive rights to the UEFA Euro 2020 tournament (which will arrive in free DLC next year) as well as Juventus and that club's stadium (in addition to partnerships with several other major clubs like Man U and Arsenal). And, no, eFootball does not have a Switch version planned for this year.
