Fall Network TV Preview: A Guide to All 17 New Shows
In the gallery above, we preview all 17 of the new shows debuting this fall on the five broadcast networks, listed in alphabetical order.
WHEN: Sunday, October 6 on The CW
WHAT: The CW's latest DC Comics series offers something new: TV's first live-action lesbian superhero lead character, who is Bruce Wayne's cousin and also lives in Gotham. Formerly in the military, she now works for The Crows, her father's security service. When the pilot—a mix of campy cartoonishness and dark, gritty drama with visuals reminiscent of Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight films—screened at San Diego's Comic-Con over the summer, the reception was generally positive, though some critics noted some flaws in tone and characterization that will need to be ironed out in future episodes.
WHO'S IN IT: Ruby Rose (Orange Is the New Black) plays Kate Kane/Batwoman after first playing the character in the "Elseworlds" DC crossover event on The CW last season. Dougray Scott, Rachel Skarsten, Meagan Tandy, and Nicole Kang also star.
WHO MADE IT: Caroline Dries (The Vampire Diaries) adapts the comics and serves as showrunner, while Greg Berlanti (obviously) is among the producers.
